WOODWORKING 1-2, 3-4
Students will be introduced to wood fabrication activities involving
appropriate tools, machines and techniques. The student will understand
basic woodworking processes, identify and describe characteristics of
commonly used woods, and be aware of a variety of career opportunities in
wood technology. The student will also be introduced to proper safety
practices, hand and machine tool operations and basic finishing
techniques.This will be accomplished as they work to construct and
complete small, useful projects by assignment, as well as by their own
choice and design in accordance with their level of experience.
